This takes place in USA shortly after WW2.
Season 1: 1950
Season 2: 1951
Season 3: 1952
Season 4: 1953
A girl named Marie Von Schultz was born in Hesse Germany in 1937 to a blues singer Francine Kohler and lawyer Hans Von Schultz. Both of her parents lost their jobs due to them being Jewish.
She had to live under Nazi rule. Jews weren't allowed in certain places, they had to wear a golden star, couldn't take pictures, had to give their bikes, etc. When she was 7 in 1944, she, her parents, brother, and his girlfriend who was a Gypsy were arrested by the Nazis. All of the family died in the death camps except for Marie and her uncle and aunt. In 1949, she moves to the US.
